The Ayrstone AyrMesh system uses a “mesh” of high-power WiFi boosters (like a WiFi repeater, but easier to set up and maintain) and “receivers” (allowing non-WiFi devices to join the network) to keep you connected all across your place.
The WiFi booster or extender is the Ayrstone AyrMesh Hub – a simple, durable outdoor WiFi access point that, mounted up high outside, blasts a WiFi signal that your laptop can use from up to half a mile away.
The AyrMesh Hub is extremely easy to install: the first Hub is called the Gateway, and it is connected to your Router with an Ethernet cable long enough to reach from your Router to wherever the Hub is mounted. Other AyrMesh Hubs are called Remotes, and, after being initialized by connecting them to your router for a few minutes, they just need power and an Ethernet cable between the power supply and the Hub. With clear line-of-sight, Hubs can be up to 2.5 miles apart, although we recommend spacing them about a mile apart.
The AyrMesh Receiver makes it easy to connect non-WiFi devices, or to bring your network into your outbuildings. It automatically connects to a Hub and uses its WiFi signal to create a wired (Ethernet) connection to the network.
The AyrMesh Receiver is also extremely easy to install: just initialize it by connecting it to your router for a few minutes, then install it. It needs only power and an Ethernet cable between its power supply and the Receiver. With clear line-of-sight, it can be up to 2 miles from the Hub.
